PRACTICE WITH THE FOREST

You are the coral colony. Every empty square is playable.

X 0Draw 0O 0

Three-dimensional tic-tac-toe.

Play on three stacked boards, each with a 3 × 3 grid. Take turns placing your mushroom on an empty square.

Win the game: get three of your mushrooms in a straight line. Your line can run across, down or diagonally on one board—or vertically or diagonally across all three layers.

The twist: challenge a square.

Online PvP: a battle happens only when a newly placed mushroom would win the game. The opponent gets a final defence on that square. Each player clicks Roll my die for their own roll. Each square can be contested once.

Solo practice and Same device retain the original rules: you may also challenge an unsecured enemy square instead of placing.

Win the battle: both players roll one six-sided die. The higher roll wins the battle. Ties roll again.

The battle winner owns the challenged square: the challenger takes it, or the defender keeps it. That square is then secured (◆) and cannot be challenged again.

After the battle: the battle winner plays next. If owning the square gives them three in a row, they win the game.

A chance to defend: when a newly placed mushroom makes three in a row, the opponent gets a final challenge on that square before the win is confirmed. The same battle rules apply. A winning capture is final because that square has already been challenged.

Using the board

Choose Top, Middle or Bottom, then tap a square. Matching positions sit directly above one another. Drag to rotate, or choose Flat layers to see every square. Coral mushrooms are X; moon mushrooms are O.

Online games end in a draw if the board fills without a winning line. In practice modes, unsecured enemy squares can still be challenged.

    Three-dimensional
    tic-tac-toe.

Three stacked 3 × 3 boards. Get three mushrooms in a straight line, on one board or across all three layers, to win the game.

    1. Play: place a mushroom on an empty square, or challenge an opponent’s occupied square.
    2. Battle: both players roll. The higher roll wins the battle. Ties roll again. The winner owns the square and plays next. Each square can only be challenged once.
    3. Win: you still need three in a row to win the game. A newly placed winning mushroom faces a final challenge before the win is confirmed.

Choose a layer before tapping the 3D board. Flat layers gives you a clear view of every square.
